Sustainable Workwear for DEFRA
As a part of our contract with Interserve, the Uk's leading FM company we have supplied their DEFRA contract with a range of work clothing that has an impeccable environmental pedigree
The fleeces used are made from recycled P E T polyester that is spun from P E T plastic bottles, the work trousers come from Fristads and all carry the Oeko-Tex certification and, as you would expect from Swedish based Fristads one of the market leaders in the production of work clothing that ticks all the right environmental boxes. In fact they are well ahead of most of us in the measurement and reporting of carbon used in the manufacture of workwear.
All other garments supplied to DEFRA carry Oeko-Tex certification which not only allows us to trace the fibres used in the production process but also covers off all the corporate responsibilities relating to production methods and the people involved in manufacture.
To reduce packaging none of the garments are individually bagged and all the packaging used is from high content recycled packaging.
Should garments need to be returned once wearers have left or need to be replaced we send them across to be recycled so nothing goes to landfill - all of this is in line with our own ISO14001 registration.
All new projects we work on will feature the strong environmental position we have learnt from the DEFRA contract as it makes sense economically and environmentally to make sure the clothing supplied is right for all
